Olympic Open Trap Bar / Hex Bar

BUILT IN BAR JACKS: The bar jacks means the hex bar can stand upright, which allows you to add and remove weight plates more easily. Also, ideal for storing on it’s side or in a 2″ Olympic plate holder.

OPEN-END: Since it has an open-ended frame, you can enter and exit the bar easily and it also allows for a greater range of motion for a wider variety of functional movement exercises including lunges, step ups and Bulgarian split squats. This bar provides more balance due to its open-ended design and accommodates a neutral lifting stance.

PERFECT DEADLIFT/ SHOULDER SHRUG: With the trap bar, basic movements such as the deadlift is much less technical. It’s easier to get into a good position with an upright torso and a flat back with a hex bar. Unlike with a regular bar, the trap bar doesn’t scrape your shins, your knees come further forward and your hips can sit lower. The hex bar’s is built for a neutral grip (palms facing in towards each other). A double-overhand pronated grip with a straight bar puts more stress and a weaker hold.

AVOID LOWER BACK PAIN: Hex bars place less of the barbell load on the lower back in comparison to regular barbells. Being ‘inside’ the bar, the weight is closer to your centre of gravity, the deadlift bar load is distributed more evenly across the body, minimizing risk of injury.
